Newcastle Discovery Centre The Newcastle Discovery Centre tells the story of Newcastle's past, from its Roman origins right up to the present day. The exhibitions are split up into separate galleries, each of which deals with a different theme. These include sections on the city's military history, its maritime past, and its Victorian heyday. The Centre also hosts a series of temporary exhibitions throughout the year. The Newcastle Discovery Centre is housed in Blandford House, in Blandford Square, to the south-west of the city centre. It is open daily, from 10am to 5pm Mondays to Saturdays and from 2pm-5pm on Sundays. Admission is free.
