Shepherd's Bush Market
W12
Nearest Tube: Shepherd's Bush
There has been a market on this site, close to Shepherd's Bush tube station, since 1914.
During the Second World War the area suffered extensive bomb damage and the market was threatened with closure. But the stall holders helped to clear the area of rubble themselves and the market was up and running again within a matter of days.
Today the market is mostly made up of food stalls, many catering for the local West Indian population.
