This museum, based at the Lord's Cricket Ground, is a must for cricket fans the world over. You can see paintings of cricket heroes, photos of world famous matches, battered bats and balls from years gone by and all manner of other cricketing memorabilia.

But the highlight of the collection has to be the famous urn that holds the Ashes - the burnt remains of one of the bails (the crosspieces that rest on the stumps) from the test series between England and Australia that took place during the 1882-83 season. The Australian supporters burnt it in sorrow at their defeat by England.
Guided tours around the museum take place daily, but telephone first to check times of the available tours. Admission costs around £6 for adults.
