| Kath and Chris welcome you to our comfortable, friendly guest house situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Cark in Cartmel in the South Lakes Peninsula. The house offers first class accommodation in an unspoilt rural location surrounded by some of the areas most popular attractions. Within easy walking distance situated just outside the village is the beautiful Holker Hall, a 16th Century Stately home set in acres of rolling countryside. Lake Windermere is within half an hours car ride and as one of the Lake District's more famous lakes, it has plenty to offer all visitors. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park is also a short car journey away and could be of interests to our younger guests. We have information on these, and many more places of interest in our entrance hall, help yourself to any that may be useful during your stay. Eeabank Lodge was formerly an old coaching house and until 1912 was known as "The Railway Hotel" A period residence of great charm and character, built circa 1760, but with part possibly 16th century. The name of the house, in recent years, is taken from the River Eea, the beck running through the village. Breakfast is served between 8am and 9:30am every morning. The dining room, with its traditional multi fuel stove is situated through the kitchen. A range of home cooked evening meals are also available on request. Adjoined to the Dining Room us the cosy Stable Bar which offers a wide selection of beer, wines and spirits. Leading from the bar and dining room is our open and covered patio which guests are invited to use whenever the weather allows! We hope you have a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable stay with us. | How to find us We are 30 minutes from the M6 From the North or South leave the M6 at junction 36 onto the A591 signed South Lakes, take the first exit off onto the A590. Follow the A590 until you reach a roundabout. Take the first exit the B5271 signed to Grange over Sands. As you go through Grange over Sands village at a mini roundabout take the first exit B5227 to Flookburgh where when you reach the square you turn right on the B5278 signed Cark. When you go over a railway bridge past the railway station you will go down into the village of Cark where we are situated on the left opposite a small car park and park area. Alternatively follow the brown signs to Holker Hall. |
| Some of the local attractions:- Holker Hall is just up the road with its Flower shows, Steam Rally's House and Gardens and hot air ballooning.Cartmel is about a mile away with its steeple chase horse race meetings, and historic priory. It is also famous for its sticky toffee puddings, (not to be missed). Cark Airfield is also about a mile away where people parachute jump, (why?). They also hold giant car boot fairs there.
