Deep in the Weald of Kent, tucked away in the tiny rural hamlet of Charcott close to Penshurst and Chiddingstone, this single-level conversion is a perfect place to spend a peaceful holiday enjoying rural Kent and visiting its many attractions. Converted 4 years ago and forming part of the traditional homestead of Charcott Farm, The Old Stables has a 4 star grading from the British Tourist Authority and is equipped to the highest standards - the only reason it failed to achieve 5 stars this year was the lack of a separate freezer!

Carpeted throughout, the 3 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin and a single have wonderful views across the open fields and the large comfortable open-plan kitchen/dining sitting area, with its' wealth of old oak beams, looks out onto the ancient farm green. There are 2 bathrooms, one with bath and one with walk-in shower. The brightly tiled kitchen has a practical quarry-tile floor and includes a microwave, fridge, electric cooker, dishwasher and washer/dryer along with an excellent and pretty assortment of matching china tableware.

Full central heating is included in the price along with all linen and electricity. For home entertainment there is a wide screen colour TV and video plus separate hi-fi system. Outside, again with views across the fields, there is a small brick patio with table and seating and parking for 2 cars.

The Greyhound pub, a 5 minute amble down the drive is not to be missed for evenings when no-one feels like cooking - Mary's cooking is famous, with people coming from miles around to eat there. The Little Brown Jug and the Castle Inn at Chiddingstone with it's exquisite garden are two other excellent local alternatives.

Local attractions include Penshurst Place, Hever, Chartwell, Knole Park and the National Trust village of Chiddingstone all within minutes while Sissinghurst, Leeds Castle, Groombridge Place, Ightham Mote and Royal Tunbridge Wells are all less than an hour's drive. For the adventurous Dover can be reached in just over an hour and a day-trip to Calais is easily possible.

Bookings are taken from Saturday to Saturday and prices vary from £250 - £560 per week.

Telephone extra - charged accordingly.
