Buxton, located in Derbyshire, is a spa town which dates back to ancient times. One of the most well known attractions in the area is Buxton Spring Water, which is a brand of water that is sold globally. Also make sure you stop by Poole's Cavern. Solomon's Temple is a limestone hill which offers fabulous views of the surrounding area. During the summer, visitors will find there are plenty of stage productions and fairs to enjoy. You will also find ample amounts of dining and other entertainment options in Buxton. In addition, there are plenty of accommodations in Buxton.

Buxton is a spa town in the county of Derbyshire. The town is often referred to as the gateway to the English Peak District. The town is on the banks of the River Wye and the thermal springs in the area gave rise to its claim as a spa although it can trace its roots back to the time of the Romans.

Whilst there isn't much remaining from the Roman days, there are still plenty of historical sights to view, including the Old Hall Hotel which is one of the oldest buildings in the town and dates back to around 1670.

Buxton is home to a number of festivals during the year, including the Buxton Festival which is held each summer and features opera, music and literature. The festival runs for approximately two weeks in July each year, so be sure to book your hotel accommodation well ahead of time if you plan to stay during the festival. There is also a "fringe festival" that runs at the same time as the main festival and is often used by performers before they take their show to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Opera fans will want to experience the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival that is held in the town each summer. This performs their works over a three week period as well as having lots of other activities taking place during the daytime.

Buxton makes an excellent location to use to explore the Peak District National Park, with its spectacular scenery and extensive range of outdoor activities that you can take part in, including hill walking and rock climbing. There are also lots of cycle trails as well as lakes and reservoirs if you prefer water based activities.

We hope you enjoy your stay in one of our cheap Buxton hotels, mid range or luxury Buxton hotels.
