Leicester is a city that is located within the county of Leicestershire. Leicestershire is located within the East Midlands. The city lies on the bank of the River Soar and it also lies at the edge of the National Forest. The city of Leicester has a population of about two hundred and eighty five thousand one hundred and within the county of Leicestershire there is a population of about four hundred and forty one thousand two hundred and thirteen. Punjabi is the preferred language for about three per cent of the population. Somali is the preferred language for about three per cent of the population and Urdu is preferred by about two per cent.
