Leisure Activities

There are many idyllic beaches and coves nearby. On the Padstow side of the Camel Estuary are long golden sandy beaches at high and low tide. The passenger ferry takes you from Padstow to Rock and in minutes you can be on the sandy dunes, which run for nearly three miles.
The Camel Estuary is a fine centre for watersports. Both freshwater and sea fishing are available in the surrounding waters.

Golf is enjoyed the whole year round, with courses at Trevose and St. Enodoc nearby.
The surrounding countryside and coastline offer a wealth of interest to ornithologists, ramblers and those who love the countryside and the rugged beauty of the North Cornish Coast.

There are many historic houses, castles and renowned gardens in the area.
The Saint's Way footpath, which goes past our gate, takes you along Little Petherick creek, through woods and over fields and hills into Padstow. From there you can join the Camel Trail, a well maintained 17-mile recreation route for walkers and cyclists which follow the old train line from Padstow along the estuary to Wadebridge and through the valley to Bodmin and on to Camelford.

Alternatively you can join the coastal path at Padstow Harbour, a spectacular walk which follows the costs along cliff tops and across beaches.
