The Black Bull, the second oldest purpose built coaching house in Barnsley, was built in 1773, and extended in the 1880's. It stands on the route of the A61, historically one of the main York/South routes and was reputedly one of Highwayman Dick Turpin's regular haunts.![]() The bedrooms have been completely and sympathetically refurbished for 2001, and all have en-suite shower room, television and tea/coffee making facilities. |
