 | Oakfield Cottage is a red brick and hung tile Sussex building extended to include double bedrooms with en suite facilities. Situated in a quiet lane and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Sussex High Weald it is an ideal place to offer you respite from routine.
One bedroom has a standard double bed and there is en suite bathroom. The second has a king sized bed with a shower room en suite. The rooms are tastefully decorated and each has views over farmland and forest.

There is a mature garden of about an acre with specialist rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas and many unusual trees and shrubs.

| Breakfast, which, should you choose, can be a full Sussex breakfast using locally sourced produce including our own eggs honey and preserves, is normally served in a large conservatory overlooking the garden and woodlands beyond. There is abundant birdlife. A garden pond encourages other wild life. Binoculars are always available. |  |
We are surrounded by award winning gardens and National Trust properties at Borde Hill, Nymans, Sheffield Park, (whose neighbours are the Bluebell Railway for the steam enthusiasts), Leonardslee, High Beeches, Wakehurst Place (known as Kew in the Country) and many smaller interesting gardens.
For indoor types there is Standen House (interiors by William Morris) close by and Petworth House, Parham House and Arundel castle within easy distance.
The more energetic can use us as a base to explore this picturesque area on foot or by bicycle. We are adjacent to the "High Weald Landscape Trail" and within 2Km of the Ouse Valley Footpath.

How to Find Us
From the south: On the A23 heading towards Gatwick/London. 1.5 miles south of Handcross leave the A 23 approx 0.5 miles after Handcross Garden Centre SIGNPOST Slaugham/Staplefield. Turn right under the A23 flyover. Keep on this road until the village green at Staplefield with the Victory Public house on your right. At the crossroads continue straight over (Brantridge Lane). Oakfield Cottage is 1.5 miles up on your left.
From the North: Leave the M23 at junction 10A. Turn left onto the Balcombe Road (B2036).Continue for approx 2 miles passing "The Cowdray" (on your left) turn right in 200yards onto the B2110 (SIGNPOSTED Handcross). In approx. 2 miles turn left into Brantridge Lane (SIGNPOSTED Staplefield). Oakfield Cottage is 1 mile down on your Right. |
