Middlewick Holiday Cottages is a complex of 11 holiday cottages and Glamping cabins based at the foot of the Glastonbury Tor. Owners Jill and Jonathan Barker, the founders of the ethical children's brand Green Baby, are lovingly maintaining the property while making improvements along the way. The most exciting improvements will be the 'green' modifications that can be made to carry on the environmental legacy Jill created when she formed Green Baby in 1999.

The Barkers fell in love with the spot, surrounded by acres of organic farms, as soon as they found it. The original green baby, their son Thomas who is now 13, is also a part of the team. He is in charge of finding the fun in the 17 acres of pastures and gardens that surround the property.

Middlewick Farm was transformed into holiday cottages over 20 years ago.

Denise runs the office. Shelagh heads up the housekeeping and Leyah looks after the horses and other animals.

Maggie is the resident blonde Labradoodle and very happy to have company. She is now joined by her daughter Elle! It is for this reason we are now opening up Middlewick to well behaved (and deflead) dogs in some of our more dog friendly cottages. If you are interested in bringing along a four legged guest, please give us a call and we will see whether we can accommodate you.

We all look forward to welcoming you to Middlewick Holiday Cottages.

The Edens are located in a quiet paddock to the rear of Middlewick with lovely path leading the way. We have named them Adam and Eve as they are located right by some of our ancient apple trees. If you are here in the autumn you will have endless apples to forage and eat.
Each Eden has its own private shower room for added luxury (you can leave your toiletries and towels in here and lock the door), a BBQ (guests to provide their own fuel for BBQ), outdoor bean bag, table, chairs, mini fridge, crockery, utensils and use of washing facilities for the dishes! Pippin Cottage - sleeps 5 + 1
Many years ago, Pippin and Springfield were created from a detached derelict barn. They are now very comfortable three bedroom cottages.
There is a stone flagged entrance hall leading to the lounge/diner off which is a spacious kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The downstairs double bedroom has a hand wash basin and separate toilet.
Upstairs there is a single bedroom, a triple bedroom with double bed and single bed as well as a spacious bathroom with separate shower as well as a tub.
Pippin is one of our dog friendly cottages.

Springfield Cottage - sleeps 6
Springfield is very similar to Pippin with a stone flagged entrance hall leading to a lounge/diner and through to a large fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Off the hall is a twin bedded room with an ensuite shower.
An open tread staircase leads to the landing where the cot resides. There is a single bedroom and a bedroom with double and single beds. Another spacious bathroom with tub and separate shower.
Springfield is one of our dog friendly cottages.

Russet - sleeps 5
Russet is a spacious cottage. Entrance is via a porch into the kitchen. From the kitchen through a large hall is the lounge, a big room with splendid inglenook fireplace (now capped).
Through the lounge into what was the original entrance hall of the property are the enclosed stairs to the second floor. The bathroom is big and airy with a bath and separate shower. Next to the bathroom is the double bedroom. Off the landing is a single bedroom and next to this is the bedroom with twin beds.

Orchard View - sleeps 4
Orchard View, a charming single storey cottage, has access through a porch into the fully equipped kitchen.
The lounge opens off the kitchen with dining area at one end. On the other side of the kitchen there is a short hall to a double bedroom, and bathroom, containing wash hand basin, shower and toilet. Further along the hall is the twin room with a complete en-suite with shower room.
The lounge opens via French doors onto the garden.

Meadow Barn - sleeps 4
Meadow Barn is a two story 'upside down' cottage (lounge and kitchen upstairs). Some of the best views at Middlewick can be enjoyed from the elevated balcony, and through the full length windows in the lounge room - 180 degrees, right across the Somerset levels and to the Mendip hills beyond.
Situated just outside the original farm perimeter wall (still well within the property and off the road), and facing away from the complex it is afforded just a tad more privacy than some of the other cottages.
This spacious, rustic cottage has a vaulted sitting room with a wood-burner, and oak wooden floors downstairs. It comprises a master double with ensuite shower room, a twin room, and a large family bathroom with bath and shower cubicle.

Tor View - sleeps 2 (+2)
Tor View is a gorgeous one bedroom cabin with its own delightful garden, overlooking the old orchard and (as the name suggests) on to the Tor. It is afforded an additional degree of privacy by facing outward from complex.
Built just 4 years ago, the cottage has an open plan kitchen/dining/living area, complete with woodburning stove and doors onto the decking - the perfect place to relax! It has been newly furnished with Fair Trade Furniture from Myakka.
The spacious bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and also overlooks the garden and orchard.
Additional accommodation is available either on the double sofa bed in the lounge room, or in the rather special Shepherd's Hut situated in the garden area (double bed).

Try one of our breakfast boxes with bacon, sausage, eggs, bread and butter and rustle up the perfect start to the day. Our farm shop on site has a good selection of produce as well.

Firewood for the wood-burning stove may be purchased on-site. Please see the additional services link (on the Cottages page) for details.
