| Stamford, the Jewel in Lincolnshire's crown and the gateway to 5 counties. Lodge Farm, provides the idyllic setting for both Clematis Cottages. Aunby is located only 4 miles north of historic Stamford. Situated on a hill top with views of rolling countryside, fields and forests to all four aspects it is the ideal setting for a "get away from it all" holiday or short break. The peace and tranquillity that surround the cottages, allows you to unwind away from the pressures and stresses of day to day living.  Stone outbuildings, which are believed to date back to the eighteenth century, have been sympathetically restored and tastefully converted, retaining many original features, to provide luxury accommodation furnished to a very high standard. Both cottages are totally independent, fully self contained, have ample parking and enjoy the benefit of separate gardens, BBQ areas and garden furniture. We are not able to offer the farmhouse annexe seen in the photograph above overlooking the courtyard on either a bed and breakfast or room only basis to compliment the accommodation available in the cottages. We are both very keen gardeners, and our target is to develop a haven for wildlife around the farm house. Deer, badgers, and a whole host of beautiful birds are all regular visitors. (Including a family of woodpeckers!) In addition to our own free range eggs, we also offer a range of fresh fruit and vegetables from the gardens and orchard. (Subject to season and availability.) | "One Clematis Cottages" Looking over the orchard and fields to the south and open countryside to the east No 1 Clematis cottage, provides 3 bedrooms with facilities to sleep 8 adults in extremely comfortable luxury accommodation.  Beautifully fitted, and equipped to a very high standard the kitchen/diner includes a built in family sized quality fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher, water softener, microwave and double oven and hob with extractor over. The farmhouse kitchen table provides comfortable seating for 8 adults with the sun shining down through the window in the vaulted ceiling  The oak beams, part vaulted ceiling, and romantic living flame log burner, provide a perfect country cottage backdrop to relax in the beautifully appointed spacious family lounge. Relax watching the TV, or choose a DVD or video from the well stocked library. Alternatively, there is a lovely range of popular family games and jigsaws to suit all ages. The downstairs oak beamed double bedroom comes complete with its own walk in wardrobe, plenty of space for all those suitcases. Complementing the downstairs double bedroom the cottage also features a downstairs luxury shower, loo and washbasin. Underfloor heating and heated towel rail ensure you stay nice and cosy. The laundry/ boiler room, complete with Belfast sink, and Victorian style clothes airer is a very useful asset to any family holiday.  The king size, sleigh bed is a real feature in the upstairs master bedroom, with pine dresser and antique clothes cupboard. Upstairs, with cottage style sloping ceilings, bedroom number two features two high quality single beds, and double wardrobe.Upstairs, located between the two bedrooms, you'll find the family bathroom . A full sized bath with quality shower over, and a heated towel rail. |
| "Two Clematis Cottages" Ample parking, undercover entrance, attached to the end of the farm's barn, Clematis Cottage offers a beautiful setting from which to enjoy your holiday or romantic short break with us. Set amidst its own gardens with private BBQ and seating area, the peace and tranquillity are only some of the reasons why your break will be one to remember!  Beautifully fitted and fully equipped to a very high standard the kitchen features built in fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, fan oven and hob and microwave. The property is independently heated and fully alarmed.  The main living area, with natural local Clipsham limestone flooring, (complete with fossils!) exposed stone walls, under floor heating, oak beams, remote control TV and DVD; Luxury leather sofa and footstool to rest those weary feet whilst enjoying a well deserved glass of wine. Lovely uninterrupted views over open countryside whilst enjoying the full morning sun during breakfast.  After that "hard" day walking, cycling, fishing, or simply sightseeing what better way to relax than under the thermostatically controlled luxury shower before dinner; the shower room also features heated towel rail, and underfloor heating. No cold feet here! Set on solid oak flooring , the romantic double bedroom overlooks the living area through a feature wooden balustrade. Easy to reach dimmer switches to the ceiling spot lights, and velux windows through which to watch the stars at night. |
