Gillian and John Hole welcome you to Bradle Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast.

The farm lies in a beautiful valley four miles west of the historic village of Corfe Castle, and 5 miles south of Wareham surrounded by the Purbeck hills in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The Purbeck Coastline is now officially recognised as a World Heritage Site known as the Jurassic Coast and part of this runs directly through our farm at Kimmeridge.

The farm and the original farmhouse are mentioned in the doomsday book before being destroyed by fire in the early 1800's. The present farmhouse was built in 1862 of local purbeck stone still retaining much of the character and style of the original.

We have been here as a family since 1962 and now farm just less than 2000 acres from the original 500 acres. John and I moved into the house in 1982 and have been offering Bed & Breakfast since then. We have gradually upgraded all the rooms to their present high standard all with en-suite facilities, and this has been reflected in our tourist board grading of a Gold Award. We are continually striving to improve our facilities for our guests to enhance their comfort and stay with us.

It is very much a working farm with two dairy herds, sheep, beef cattle, corn and a few pigs and John farms in partnership with his two brothers and father. Although the farm buildings are relatively close, there is no noise from the animals or machinery to detract you from the quiet and peaceful surroundings. Guests are welcome to look around the farm, and John is only too happy to answer questions.

Three years ago we had the opportunity to take on the village café and shop in Kimmeridge which is a mile away. This has enabled us with the opportunity to showcase our produce from the farm and sell direct to the public. We have refurbished the café to a high standard and can sit 30 guests comfortably inside and then there is a large seating area directly in front of the café which takes another 50.

We have also created a farm shop and this is where we sell our farm meat which is allowed to hang in our cutting room thus giving the meat the full flavour and tenderness. During the summer months we also sell local Dorset products and gifts. The Café is open every day during the summer months serving breakfast, lunch, cream teas and dinners in the evening and specialize in using our own meat in the café and fish from Kimmeridge Bay. My niece Emma, her Mum Annette (my sister in law) and I run the café along with an excellent team of staff. John and our youngest son Mark are responsible for the meat and all the butchering.

A warm friendly atmosphere is assured with us at Bradle, come and sample what we have to offer!
