Barn Cottage Bed and Breakfast is "off the beaten track" in a tiny very rural hamlet.
WOOLMINSTONE is up a lane on the hillside, a couple of miles south of CREWKERNE.
Although Barn Cottage is rurally situated, the local towns and attractions of South Somerset, West Dorset and East Devon are easily accessible bu bike / car.
The is a "Country bus" service at the bottom of the lane and BR train station 3 miles away in Crewkerne. We have timetables for both services.
Accommodation
BARN COTTAGE offers luxurious, home from home, en-suite accommodation with all those little extra's to ensure your stay is comfortable.
Both the KING and TWIN rooms are light, fresh and sunny, well furnished and serviced daily.
Both rooms have a comprehensive and appetising hospitality tray with filtered chilled water and fresh milk available at all times from the guest's fridge.
In the en suite shower you are treated with fluffy towels and lots of pots and potions and a hair dryer is on hand.
Flat screen TV/DVD's with "Free view" and a folder of DVD's, and binoculars are on hand to catch the local wild life!
The spacious KING room has a wonderfully comfortable KING size bed.
With the addition of a Single folding bed we offer this room for groups of three. A Travel Cot is also available.The triple aspect windows have panoramic views.
The charming TWIN room also has wonderfully comfortable beds both 3' wide in a room with a partially sloping ceiling. You would enjoy panoramic views south over the lovely gardens and farm lands.
Children are very welcome, but please advise us of your needs before booking.
For "long distance" walkers, please ask about our "pick up and drop off" service.
Business guests are very welcome and we offer free WiFi access to everyone.
If the weather turns nasty washing and drying facilities are readily available.
An iron and board are always available.
Regretfully NO SMOKING.
Sorry but no pets only guide dogs.
Unless prior arrangements are made, check in is usually after 3.30pm with check out before 10.30am.
Breakfast
A hearty, well cooked breakfast is served in the light and airy breakfast room.
The French doors and windows over look the patio, the garden and the farm lands. A real treat for animal and bird lovers.
At Barn Cottage we usually serve breakfasts between 8 am and 9am (you choose) but earlier starts are no problem.
Breakfast ingredients are locally sourced and mainly organic or home grown produce.
All jams and marmalade are home made and from local produce.
A variety of breakfasts is always on offer and with notice can readily accommodate any particular dietary needs you might have.
Light suppers and packed lunches are available on request.
Local Area
Barn Cottage is enviable positioned for exploring, walking, biking and visiting this beautiful area.
We are set centrally in a very tranquil spot on the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Devon.
We are surrounded by hills, country lanes, organic farms, and have fabulous views out over Dorset hills.
From Lyme Regis to Bridport to Abbottsbury, the Jurassic Coastline is within a beautiful half hour drive.
Numerous National Trust and privately owned properties with special gardens, genuine village pubs, beautiful golden stone villages and thriving market towns are all within a short drive. |
