Located on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park, and seventeen miles from the coast at Aberdovey or Borth, we are ideally situated to explore the magnificent mountains, valleys and lakes of mid Wales, or spend a lazy day on the beach.

The hills are easily accessible, and there are many paths for walking or mountain biking, suitable for all abilities. Glyndwr's Way is 2 miles away, accessed at Cemmaes Road.

Situated on the banks of the River Dyfi, there are wonderful views along the river valley and there is space for you to take a stroll by the steam, walk the dog or simply sit and enjoy the views.

7 miles to the south west is Machynlleth, the ancient capital of Wales and the seat of Owain Glyndwrs Parliament. Stroll through the street market on Wednesday, browse around the craft shops or take a walk around the town trail.

Sea fishing is available locally, and the Dyfi is one of the finest game fishing rivers in the UK.

The cottage is surrounded by wild life, particularly birds, and you will see anything from buzzards to woodpeckers. Over 60 species of birds have been seen from the garden. You may be lucky enough to see Red Kites, a badger or even an otter. The RSPB reserve at Ynys Hir is about 14 miles away.

Six of the "Little Trains of Wales" are within easy reach for a day out, as are a number of castles, including Powys with its magnificent gardens. The world renowned Centre for Alternative Technology is just over the mountain.
