The English town of Wellingborough is located in the area that is known as Northamptonshire. The town of Wellingborough is located about eleven miles from Northampton which is the county town and eight miles to the south of the town of Kettering. The town of Wellingborough dates back to the sixth century and it is mentioned in the Domesday. The town of Wellingborough was granted status as a royal charter in 1201. The town has a population of seventy two thousand five hundred and nineteen. The town of Wellingborough is located on the northern side of the River Nene and most of the older part of the town as located at the bottom of the hills above the flood plain of the river. Over recent years there has been frequent flooding of the flood plain, which is part of the River Nene. The town of Wellingborough is twinned within the French area of Noirt and the German area of Wittlich.
The town of Wellingborough has a lot of facilities on offer to both tourists and locals alike. At one time the town of Wellingborough had four cinemas. One of the cinemas was known as the Palace and this was on the site of a converted theatre. Another cinema was the Regal and this cinema was under the same management as the Palace cinema. The other two cinemas were the Silver Cinema and also the Lyric. Despite at one point the town having four cinemas there is actually no cinema within the town nowadays.
