Manchester Town Guide |
pposite Manchester's Town Hall stands the city's Central Library, located in St Peter's Square. | ||
You can't miss it - it's the unusual and distinctive circular building! The library dates from the 1930s when it was built to show the city's commitment to local education. At the time it was the world's biggest municipal library, and the huge reading room is still pretty impressive. The Library is open to the public daily except on Sundays, but opening hours vary so do check in advance. Admission is free. |
