Walworth District

SE17

Walworth is the district of south-east London that is situated between Camberwell and Peckham. Since 1965 it has been part of the borough of Southwark.

The area was rural for much of its history, and in the 18th and early 19th centuries was well known as a picturesque retreat from the city.

But as London expanded the district inevitably became transformed into a suburban district on the outskirts of central London.
