Wimbledon Tennis Museum
Church Road, SW19
Nearest Tube: Wimbledon
This museum was opened in 1977, on the centenary of the foundation of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon.
It is naturally dedicated to the history and development of the game of tennis, with all sorts of memorabilia and video clips of classic matches. |
 |
You will probably need to be a fan of the game to really enjoy it, but saying that the presentation is excellent so even non-fans might still find it fairly interesting.
It is open from 10.30am-5pm Tuesdays to Saturdays, and from 2pm-5pm Sundays. Admission to the museum costs around £3 for adults. Please note that during the annual championships visiting hours are restricted.
