Savile Row

W1
Nearest Tube: Piccadilly Circus

Savile Row is the world-famous street that is synonymous with tailors shops, probably the most well known of which being Gieves and Hawkes at number 1.

It is located off Conduit Street in Mayfair, running parallel between Bond Street and Regent Street. The name of the street comes from the 3rd Earl of Burlington's wife, Lady Dorothy Savile.

Aside from tailors, Savile Row also has some interesting music connections. Apple, the record label for the Beatles, was located at number 3 until 1972. And it was here that the Beatles gave their famous traffic-stopping last live performance in 1969 - up on the rooftop!
