London Dungeon

28-34 Tooley St, SE1
Nearest Tube: London Bridge

This is one of London's most gruesome, yet most popular attractions.

You can watch people being guillotined, hanged, and disembowelled. And if you are interested in historical events you can see St Thomas a Beckett's murder, the execution of Anne Boleyn and Jack the Ripper with all his victims.

And if that isn't enough there are all manner of torture instruments and methods depicted - all to the sounds of screaming and moaning. Nice!

Story has it that it was put together because some children didn't find the Chamber of Horrors at Madame Tussaud's frightening enough, so if you are feint hearted, squeamish or have very young children, stay away.

London Dungeon is situated underneath London Bridge. It is open daily from 10am-6.30pm April-September and 10am-5.30pm October-March. Admission is around £10 for adults.
