London Town Guide |
Cricklewood District
NW2
This part of London is located to the north-west of central London, between Kilburn and Hampstead.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries it was strongly associated with the railways, and there were several goods yards centred around Cricklewood Station. Other industries that have been associated with the district over the years include the motor car and aerospace industries.
Today the area is less industrialised than it used to be and has a more residential feel to it. There is a substantial Indian population in Cricklewood, which is reflected in the many shops in the area that have a strong Indian feel.
