Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery can be found on Park Street, to the west of the City Centre.
It is housed in a splendid 19th century building that once belonged to the wealthy Wills family who were tobacco merchants.
This is an excellent place to head for if you want to find out more about the local history of Bristol, for it houses all the artefacts from Bristol's past that you would expect.
More surprisingly, it is also home to an interesting international collection of paintings and decorative arts, including the biggest collection of Chinese glass outside of China.
The City Museum and Art Gallery is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Admission is around £2 for adults.
