Market Rasen, located in Lincolnshire, is situated about 29 kilometers east of Gainsborough. Although relatively small, visitors will find there is still plenty to see and do in the local area. The Lincolshire Wolds are located near town as is the National Cycle Route. Fans of architecture will also certainly enjoy the architecture of the town, primarily Victorian and Georgian. There is also a medieval church located in Market Rasen. The Market Rasen Racecourse also draws tourists as do the nearby golf and rugby clubs. The market is open three days per week, which an auction taking place every Tuesday.

Market Rasen is an English town that is located within the district of Lincolnshire and within the area that is known as West Lindsey. The town of Market Rasen is a civil parish and it is located on the banks of the River Base. The town of Market Rasen is located about fourteen miles to the northeast of Lincoln, about eighteen miles to the east of Gainsborough and it is also about sixteen miles to the southwest of Grimsby.

The town of Market Rasen has a population of about three thousand two hundred people. Market Rasen is a small sized market town that is located on the border of the Lincolnshire Wolds. This town is located on the main road that runs between Grimsby and Lincoln.

The buildings within the town centre are built from red bricks that date back to the nineteenth century however they still have a Georgian appearance. This town is probably best known for its racecourse but the town is also well known for its golf clubs and rugby.

There is only one secondary school within the town and it is known as De Aston. This secondary school is a rural co-educational school that teaches pupils aged between eleven and eighteen years of age and the school currently teaches about one thousand one hundred and ninety which are made up of boarding pupils and day pupils. There is also a primary school within the town.

There was an earthquake within the town on the 27th February 2008 and it was felt about four kilometres from the town centre and it measured 5.2 on the scale. A lot of different parts of the United Kingdom from Plymouth to Edinburgh also felt this earthquake and in fact it was felt as far away as the area of Bangor in Northern Ireland.
