Huntly, located in Aberdeenshire, was once known as Milton of Straighbogie. The town is perhaps best known as being home to writer George MacDonald. It is widely believed that some of his novels take place in the town of Huntly, even when the name of the town has been changed in some instances. There are numerous sights and attractions in the local area to enjoy, including Huntly Castle, which overlooks picturesque sights. Huntly is also home to Dean Bakers, which produces shortbread biscuits that are famous around the world. There are ample accommodation options in the immediate area.
