Duns, located in the Scottish Borders area, is situated on the coast. There are many sights of interest in the local area, including a large shopping facility as well as a variety of other shops. The high school of Berwickshire is a comprehensive school that has six different years and this school is located to the west of the town.

The town of Duns is home to number of notable people that includes the famous formula w racing driver that is known as Jim Clark and there is now a small museum within the town in memory of him. The medical doctor and homeopath that was known as Dr Samuel Cockburn lived within the area. The town of Duns has been twinned with the Poland area of Zagan.
