Dundee hosts two universities that are the Dundee campus of the University of Abertay and also the University of Dundee. Dundee is also home to the theatre of Scottish Dance and the city is renowned for the Dundee Repertory Theatre.
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra regularly performs within the Caird Hall within the city of Dundee. On the 5th of March 2004 Dundee was granted status as a Fairtrade City.
