The town of Barry is situated along the northern shores of the Bristol Channel. The town of Barry is located about seven miles south west of the city of Cardiff. Cardiff is the capital city of Wales. The town of Barry is a seaside resort which attractions vast numbers of visitors due to the town being home to several beaches and there is also the pleasure park. Barry was once a small village however over the years it has merged with nearby villages of Barry Island and Cadoxton making Barry into a town. The town of Barry has a population of about fifty thousand. The town is actually the fifth biggest urban area in the whole of Wales and it is the biggest town in Wales.
The town of Barry is the administrative centre for the vale of Glamorgan and the town is home to the local football club that is known as Barry Town. The town was once accessible along the B4266 road from Bonvilston, however the town is now accessed using the A4226. The A4226 was created with the merger of the B4266 and the B4265.
Over the years the town has been associated in one way or another with a vast array of famous people and these include the BBC Wales weather presenter Derek Brockway, the common wealth gold medal swimmer David Davies and also the actor Gerran Howell. There has also been a number associated within the town and these include Bob Jones, he was also a coach and another footballer connected with the town is Derek Tapscott who played for Arsenal and Wales.
