Jorvik Viking Festival | |
| Every January York is the venue for the annual Jorvik Viking Festival, a celebration of York's Viking roots. The festival is organised by the Jorvik Viking Centre who arrange a wide variety of events and spectacles which take place all over the city. Out of all the events to choose from, the favourite has to be the Viking boat race, which takes place on the River Ouse, followed by a traditional Viking boat burning ceremony. |
