Edinburgh Town Guide |
Located on the corner between Princes Street and St Andrew's Square in the New Town, Jenners is the place to go for any shopaholic - it is often referred to as the "Harrods of Scotland".
|
Jenners was founded in 1838, making it the oldest privately owned department in the world. The elaborate exterior was rebuilt in 1895 after the original burnt down in 1892 is impressive in itself. And once you get inside you won't be disappointed, for this is one of Edinburgh's most prestigious shops. As well as clothes, there is a fantastic food hall, home furnishings, a beauty salon, and for kids a great toy section. Jenners is open daily except Sundays, but opening hours vary according to day so check in advance. |
