The Scottish burgh of Kinross is located within the area that is known as Perth and Kinross. The town of Kinross was once the hometown for Kinross-shire. The town of Kinross is a relatively small town that feature some very attractive buildings. There is a small wynd within the town and this is home to the original parish church and the churchyard. The small wynd overlooks Loch Leven that is located a little distance away from the town.

The town of Kinross was once linked by railway to Fife, Clackmannanshire and also Perthshire. However over the year these railway lines have been lost one by one and the town is now isolated to a certain extent. Over recent years the town of Kinross ahs expanded and this was thanks to the M90 motorway that bypasses the town. The burgh of Kinross is located on the banks of Loch Leven.

The town of Kinross is probably best known for its annual music event, which is known as T in the park. The music festival is held within the former airfield that is known as Balado. Balado was once an area for NATO early warning signals during the Second World War.

The town of Kinross has a population of between four thousand and five thousand. Most of the local children within the town attend the towns' high school and some of the local children attend the local private school that is known as Dollar Academy.
