Welwyn Garden City is located in Hertfordshire. The town is most well known for its planning. One of the most interesting things about this town is that it is not only a new town but also a garden city. As a result of the planning of this town, visitors from around the globe come to view it on an annual basis. The English town of Welwyn Garden City is located within Hertfordshire. The town is commonly as other names such as WGC, Welwyn and also Welwyn. The other problem with the town being referred to as Welwyn is that there is actually a village called that just a few miles to the north west of Welwyn Garden City.

The main history of the town of Welwyn Garden City lies in the layout of the town. The town is a primary example of the social, physical and cultural ideals that date back to the time that the town was established. The town has a unique distinction of being both a new town and also a garden city. The town attracts visitors from all around the world as it has significance throughout the world.

Since the local government was reorganised the town of Welwyn Garden City has been part of the district of Welwyn Hatfield. The town of Hatfield has also retained its own town council but the town of Welwyn Garden City has been unable to do this. There are signs at the moment that change could be happening with the formation of the council of Welwyn Garden City. This new council will help the town to keep its individuality and its identity as a civil town.

The town is well known as being the place where breakfast cereal is produced as both Shreddies and Shredded Wheat are produced in the town. The cereals are produced in the factory that was once used by the Nabisco Company, which is now part of Nestle. This factory is actually a grade two listed building that dates back to 1924. Louis de Soissons designed the factory and Peter Lind builders who are the same people that built the Post Office Tower built it. The Nestle Company moved to the town of Staverton in Wiltshire as they felt that this factory was too small for them.
