Edinburgh Town Guide |
As Edinburgh's boundaries expanded, it gradually absorbed several smaller towns and villages. One of these is the village of Cramond, which lies several miles to the west of central Edinburgh.
|
The village of Cramond has been settled since Roman times and is now one of the prettiest areas of Edinburgh, being largely cut off from the hustle and bustle of the city. As a result it is also one of the most exclusive addresses in the whole of Edinburgh. Whilst there is not much to attract the visitor to Cramond, there are some excellent walks in the vicinity of the village. In particular when the tide is low you can walk across a causeway to Cramond Island, although take care that an incoming tide doesn't leave you stranded. |
