First founded in 1943, the aim of the Welsh National Opera is to promote opera by produce exciting performances that appeal to a wider audience than opera traditionally caters for. And it has certainly achieved its aim, regularly producing performances that receive rave reviews and national awards. The future of the Welsh National Opera looks set to be equally successful, with plans for a superb new home in the recently rejuvenated Cardiff Bay area of the city. |
