Bristol Town Guide, Orientation in Bristol, 2K

Bristol's city centre is essentially the oval created by St Augustine's Parade and Broad Way, and this is a useful place from which to get your bearings. It can be found just to the north of the area known as Floating Harbour, about a mile to the west of Temple Meads train station.

Tourist attractions in the city centre include the city's acclaimed Theatre Royal, whilst the City Museum and Art Gallery can be found to the north-west of the city centre.

East of the city centre is John Wesley's Chapel, and Bristol Cathedral can be found just to the south-west of the town centre.

Along the edge of the Floating Harbour, to the south of the city centre, you can find attractions such as the SS Great Britain, the Maritime Heritage Centre and the Arnolfini Arts Centre.

Bristol is quite a compact city, and so many of the main attractions are within walking distance of each other. However, the town is very hilly, and so you would probably want to make use of public transport to get around.
