The Ship Hotel is a grade II listed building which was once a 17th century coaching inn on the Workington to Carlisle road. It is now a comfortable, owner managed hotel in a peaceful seaside village, offering a warm welcome to visitors to the Solway Coast and the nearby Lake District. Spectacular Solway sunsets which have to be seen to be believed can be viewed from most of the hotel bedrooms, most of which are en suite and are traditionally furnished with real wood furniture. The bars have real fires and exposed beams as seen by Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins when they stayed here in 1857. Our small but select dining room with its wood panelling bar meals are available at lunchtimes and evenings. Sunday lunches are our speciality. Yates real ales and guest beers make the bars a joy for the discerning drinker. Bed and breakfast prices start from £30.00 per person per night Sky Sports available Free WiFi in the Bars Dogs welcome | ![]() |
