The town of Brighouse is located within the County that is known as West Yorkshire. The town of Brighouse has a population of about thirty two thousand. The town of Brighouse is located on the banks of the River Calder. It is located about four miles to the east of Halifax that is located in the Pennines. The town is served by the M62 and the town also has its own railway station.
There are some annual events, which are held within the town of Brighouse and these include the charity gala, which is usually held on the last Saturday in June. The charity gala consists of a procession, which start at about quarter past one and it usually leaves from the Crosslee works, which are located within the area of Hipperholme. The procession represented local businesses and groups on the various colourful designed floats. The floats in the procession follow a circular route, which takes in the suburban area as well as the town centre. The floats are accompanied with a range of musical bands and walking groups.
Over the years the town has had some connections with famous people and these include the inventor and television presenter who was known as Wilf Lunn. The town of Brighouse is surrounded by a number of small villages and suburbs, which include Clifton, Hove Edge, Hipperholme and also Rastrick to name a few.
