The English village of Woodhall Spa is located within the Lincolnshire district of East Lindsey. The village of Woodhall Spa is a civil parish located about six miles south west of the area of Horncastle. The village of Woodhall Spa came into existence following a dream of John Parkinson and he was originally from the local village Old Bollingbrook. The dream that John Parkinson had was to sink a coalmine and then to build a city on it and plant a forest.
The forest that was built on the local site is known as Pinewoods and it is woodlands of about eight hectares. The Woodland Trust owns the forest area. The site where the forest is located was originally scrubland until it was incorporated into the grounds owned by the Victoria Hotel. The Pinewoods forest is located at the heart of the village of Woodhall Spa and this woodland area is one of the main attractions within the village for tourists. This woodland area is particularly popular during the springtime when there is a vast array of flowers including rhododendrons and daffodils.
One of the main attractions within the heart of the Pinewoods forest is the Kinema in the woods and this is completely unique to the village of Woodhall Spa. The Kinema in the Woods was opened during 1922 and it is housed within a cricket pavilion that has been converted.
The attraction known as Jubilee Park was opened during 1937 and it is connected to the Pinewoods forest area. The Jubilee Park offers a heated outdoor swimming pool and these are very rare within the United Kingdom nowadays.
