The English market town of Wimborne Minster is located within the district of East Dorset, which is located in the southwestern part of England. The town of Wimborne Minster is more commonly referred to a Wimborne. The town of Wimborne has a population that is about six thousand four hundred and eighteen. The town is located at the point where the River Allen and River Stour meet and the town is located about five miles to the north of the town that is known as Poole.

At the moment Robin D. Cook is the Major within the town of Wimborne and he hs held this position as from May 2008. Prior to Robin. D. Cook becoming the major Anthony Oliver held the post.

Eleven councillors cover the town of Wimborne and its administrative centre and there is also one from the nearby wards that is known as Cranfield. The town of Wimborne has been twinned with the French town of Valognes.

The town of Wimborne historically was important within the aerospace industry and the company that was known as Cobham Plc has its head office within the town. The Cobham Plc Company employs a vast number of the local residents. A lot of the economy within the town is dedicated to the leisure industry and this includes restaurants, pubs and also shops.

The town of Wimborne has a very strong educational network that consists of three primary schools and two middle schools. Wimborne Primary School is now known a Wimborne First School and this school has been educating children since 1911. the two upper school that serve the area of Wimborne and Merley are known as Queen Elizabeth's School and Corfe Hills School. Lady Margaret Beaufort founded the upper school that is known a Queen Elizabeth's School in 1497 and the school has close links with the Minster.
