The English town of Walton on Thames is located within the borough of Elmbridge in Surry. The town of Walton on Thames is situated about fifteen miles to the south west of the area that is known as Charing Cross and it is located between the towns that are known as Esher and Weybridge. The town of Walton on Thames is surrounded by the River Thames to the northern side. It is possible to get to Waterloo Station in London from the town of Walton on Thames in only twenty-five minutes.

The town of Walton on Thames has a population of about twenty three thousand and the district of Walton on Thames has a population of five thousand eight hundred and sixty two. The district of Walton on Thames has a male population of about two thousand seven hundred and ninety one and female population of about three thousand and seventy one.

Over the years there have been five different bridges on the site where Walton Bridge now stands and there are plans being discussed for bridge number six. Before the first Walton Bridge was erected there was ferries that used to ferry people back and forward to the town. The ferry dated back to the fifteenth century. The first Walton Bridge was erected between 1748 and 1750. The first bridge was a structure made from timber that stood up until 1783. In 1754 Canaletto painted a picture that reflected the bridge.

The town of Walton on Thames has been home to a range of famous people over the years including Tony Walton who designed costumes and scenery and the town was also the birthplace of the singer and actress who is known as Julie Andrews.
