Like all major cities the world over, London has its seedier side. The main area of London that is renowned for its sex shops, strip clubs and peep shows is Soho.
In the 70s and 80s, Soho had a decidedly sleazy atmosphere. However over the last few years Soho has also become one of the trendiest districts of London, with lots of clubs, bars and restaurants alongside the sex establishments.
If you do decide to visit a Soho strip club remember that they are experts at separating you from your cash. So beware!
But remember that, like everywhere, the threat of HIV and Aids is present in the UK so take precautions. Condoms are readily available from supermarkets and chemists (pharmacists) and many pubs provide condom vending machines in the toilets.
