Glasgow's famous Willow Tearooms are to be found on Sauchiehall Street, in the heart of Merchant City.

The Tearooms were opened way back 1904 in by Kate Cranston, a Glasweigan woman who opened the world's first tearoom in 1875.

Miss Cranston commissioned the young Charles Rennie Mackintosh as her designer, and as a result he designed everything from chairs and tables to light fittings and even the cutlery.

This means that this is one of the best places to head for in order to gain an authentic experience of the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

The Willow Tearooms are open daily from 9.30am to 5pm.
