Edinburgh is world famous for its annual International Festival. However, the city hosts many more festivals than just its most famous one, an example being the Edinburgh International Science Festival. |

| The Edinburgh International Science Festival has been held every April since 1987. But Edinburgh's scientific history goes back much further, for the city has long been an acclaimed centre of scientific learning, particularly in the fields of medicine and mathematics. The Festival is no less acclaimed, for it covers serious topics in all areas of science often featuring field leaders, however that is not to say that it is dull. It has an excellent reputation for being fun, innovative and appealing to children. Over 250 events are held all across the city so there should be something for everyone, from the academic to the 8-year old budding scientist. |
