The English town of Oswestry is full of tourist attractions and it lies just at the border of Wales. The most distinctive feature of the town is its highest number of public houses per head of population. The town has kept its history intact in many interesting ways including hanging a list of all pubs ever opened in Owestry on the walls at Church Street.

In the heart of the town lies a castle known as Whittington Castle. It dates back almost to the 12th Century, although much of the grandeur is lost but still people can see the glory once it had. The most striking fact about the castle is that it is the only castle in the United Kingdom that is owned and run by the local community.

The castle covers almost 12-acres of area, which provides ample walking ground for hundreds of tourists. The adjacent gardens reveal the fact that it was once ruled by fairly advanced monarchs who kept an interest in developing the surroundings of the castle.

The town has preserved all the elements of country life and it can truly be appreciated by going through Park Hall Countryside Experience, which hosts animals of all sorts that are common in villages. It doesn't stop here and offers more playing opportunities for children. There is a grand tractor circuit that truly engages the children and adults can enjoy country life at its best. Moreover there is a good serving tearoom that is no less than a blessing in such a wonderful environment.
