The English town of Maldon is located within the area of Essex. The town of Maldon is located on the Blackwater Estuary. The town of Maldon is the main town within the district of Maldon and the town is also the starting place for the navigation of Blackwater and Chelmer. The town of Maldon is twinned with the Dutch town that is known as Cuijk and the two towns merged back in 1970.
The town of Maldon is surrounded by places such as Danbury, Mundon, Steeple and Steeple to name a few. The town of Maldon first got a railway link back in 1846 when the branch line to Witham was opened. Over the years a second line was linked to the town of Maldon and this second line allowed connections to places such as Southminster and Shenfield as the second line connected to the main line between these places. Back in 1895 there was eight trains that running on weekdays and three trains on a Sunday.
Both of the railway lines were closed during the twentieth century and now the nearest railway station of the town are North Fambridge, Witham and Hatfield Peverel. The closest railway station for the north of the town is at Hatfield Peverel and the closest railway station for the southern parts of the town is North Fambridge.
The town of Maldon is well known throughout the United Kingdom and also some places worldwide for being the place for the Thames sailing barges. The badge for the town features Thames sailing barges.
