Macclesfield is an English market town that is located in the area of Cheshire. The town of Macclesfield has a population of about fifty thousand six hundred and eighty eight. This town is the largest settlement within the borough of Macclesfield and the tow is also the home to the administrative centre for the borough. Thornton Square is located within a residential part of Macclesfield. Thornton Square came into the public eye via the media in 2002. This area was in the media as it was covered with policemen that spent eighteen months patrolling the areas and this led to the issuing of a lot of anti social behaviour orders to young people. The young people that were issued with these orders were accused of a number of offences including threatening, stealing, verbally abusive behaviour to name a few of the crimes.
