This is a town that is located within the district of Fylde within Lancashire. This town is a seaside resort that is very popular with tourists although it is not quite so popular as the nearby town of Blackpool.
The town is located on the Fylde coast just south of Blackpool at the place where the coastline turns eastwards to form the estuary of the River Ribble and this leads inwards towards Preston.
Lytham St Annes has a vast range of cultures within the population and it attracts a wide range of people who are looking to have more of a traditional lifestyle.
The areas of Lytham St Annes are renowned internationally for golf and there are four courses within the local area. The most well known of the four courses is the Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club and one of the courses within this area hosts the Open Championships and this is also known as the British Open. This course first hosted the competition in 1926. Every ten years or so a major sporting events encourages a major influx of tourists as well as a vast number of the worlds best media companies.
The town also has some other major events such as the St Annes and Lytham Club Days, which involves a funfair and a large procession of brightly decorated floats. A lot of these events are held over a weekend and they bring in a vast number of visitors from the nearby areas and further away. The club day that is held in the later part of June is the biggest.
