The English town of Kettering is located in the northern part of Northamptonshire. The town of Kettering is the main town within the Kettering Borough. The town of Kettering is located on the banks of the River Ise. The town is twinned with an area in Germany called Lahnstein and also Kettering, in Ohio USA.

The economy for the town of Kettering was originally based on the shoe and boot industry. When the railways arrived during the nineteenth century the town began to be used by the clothing and engineering industries. During 1909 the clothing company that is known as Aquascutum built its first factory in the town. Nowadays the economy of the town relies on the industries that are concerned with services and distribution and this is mainly due to the fact that the town has a prime central location and also has an excellent transport links.

The town has a large population that commute as they take advantages of the great railway network offered by East Midlands trains. The town also has a link to St Pancras station that is the home to the Eurostar.

The origins of the town of Kettering date back to the times of the early Romano Britain's. The local industry of the Romans is represented at Barton Seagraves and Boughton by the pottery kilns.

The unemployment rate within the town of Kettering is amongst the lowest within the United Kingdom and over eighty per cent of the adult population are employed full time. The town is home to a wide range of companies including Pegasus Software, RCI Europe and also Weetabix.
