About Us

Yr-hendre stands in a large garden and can offer ample private parking within the grounds.
There is a confortable lounge with a desk for you to write your cards,and plenty of books and magazines for you to read or maybe just relax after your busy day. Maybe enjoy a pot of tea/coffee and some home made cakes.

The dining room overlooks the garden and out to sea. Breakfast is served here from 7.00am - 9.00am. A full Welsh breakfast or something light from our menu. We use all local produce where possible and our bacon and special sausages come from an award winning butcher.

All our preserves are home made and the fruit is grown in the garden. We welcome walkers and cyclists and provide lock up storage for bicycles'. We can also arrange to send your storage to your next destination up to a 30 mile distance for a reasonable fee. We can also arrange pick up and drop off if you do not have a car. Packed lunches are also available if required.
Athough we are not open every day for late arrivals this can be arranged with prior notice and small deposit

Attractions

Holyhead is situated on a small island on the west coast of Anglesey. There are coach and rail links to the town along with 2 ferry companies.
Saint Cybi's church stands in the centre of town surrounded by a Roman Fort, well worth a visit.
Beaches - There are many safe sandy beaches in the area and South stack and North Stack offer ideal opportunities for bird watching.
The town has a sailing school and Marina and a number of sailing championships are held here
History - A land train takes you to the country park at the foot of Holyhead Mountain where you will find a museum and café and many coastal walks
The maritime museum is located in the old lifeboat station (circa 1858) it also house an excellent Bistro.
Art Centre/leisure - At Ucheldre provides activities for adults and children including art workshops, exhibitions, cinema, plays musical concerts etc
There is also an 18 hole championship golf course

Our History

Yr Hendre was an old Manse specially built by the chapel Hyfrydle for their Minister. The chapel is still used today and can be found in the town just a short distance away.
It was bought from the chapel by the family as a home over 30 years ago.
The house is constantly updated to provide luxury accommodation for our guests yet still retaining many of its original features.
Situated opposite a park and in an area of outstanding natural beauty, we offer peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. There are many walks and the coastal park is nearby.
We are within 2 minutes walk of the sea and promenade where you can find places to eat, a Marina and many water sports.
The town centre is just a stroll away and the ferry and train station within 10 minutes walk

By Car:

Follow the A55 into Holyhead and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit to the town centre
Turn left at the war memorial and the town clock and follow the road until you come to the 1st turning left up a steep hill opposite Barclays Bank
Take the road up to the top of the hill and carry straight through 1st crossroad and on until you come to a 2nd cross road passing the High School on the left.
Carry on straight across the crossroad and Yr Hendre is the large cream and red brick house on the left facing the park

By Train:

From the Railway/ferry station, continue towards the A55, then 1st right at the traffic lights to the town centre
