Witherington Farm nestles in its own secluded valley yet is just 5 miles south of the historic Cathedral city of Salisbury and an easy distance from Stonehenge.

Witherington is a working farm of 600 acres and is the home of Ian and Annette Fergie–Woods and Caroline Beeney.

Witherington has existed at least as far back as the 11th century and is described in Domesday Book.

The present farmhouse (now a 'listed' building) was built c.1700. The rooms have the character of a house of that age, such as oak beams and large open fireplaces. They are decorated and furnished to a high standard.

The peace and beauty of Witherington, the walks and the scenery, and above all the lovely atmosphere, make Witherington a very special place. It gives us pleasure to share it with you.


Places to Visit...

Witherington Farm is central for most outside activities. We have our own coarse fishing lakes; there are lovely walks around the farm, and we have stabling if you want to bring your horse! There are golf courses nearby.

The South Room. This is the largest bedroom in the house and has splendid views in three directions over the garden and thefarm. It has a kingsize double bed (which can be two singles if preferred) and there are armchairs and a television. Ensuite, auniquely oak panelled bathroom has a wonderfully big bath, a separate shower, handbasin and wc.

South Room Price : 2 persons £80.00, 1 person £55.00

The East Room. A very comfortable size; it retains the original beamed fireplace and has extensive views over thecountryside. There is a kingsize double bed (which can be two singles if preferred). The room has its own private bathroomand wc very nearby.

The Cottage Room. Another substantial room of great character, it is in the oldest (early 17th century) part of the house and overlooks the old farmyard. This room has a standard double bed and armchairs and television. A powershower, handbasin andwc are ensuite.

Witherington Farm, Salisbury, Sitting Room, 8KThe Sitting Room. On the same floor as the bedrooms, guests have their own large comfortable sitting room where there is television and all the local touring information.


Bedrooms each have the facility for making tea, coffee and other beverages. There is always a bowl of fruit in your room andmany other extras to make your visit special.

A delicious breakfast is served in the dining room. There is fruit, yoghurts, cereals, toast and a variety of homemade jams andmarmalade, and choice of tea or coffee. Most of our visitors enjoy our full English breakfast to start the day with. We canhappily cater for special diets or preferences.

We are not able to provide an evening meal but there are friendly Pubs nearby in Alderbury (1˝ miles) and Downton (4 miles)which serve good food. Salisbury (4 miles) has MANY good restaurants
